What hardscape work do you do in Portland?

How do you build a patio that survives Maine winters?
Freeze-thaw is the failure point. We excavate, set a compacted base, and drain water away from the house so pavers and stone do not heave after the first winter.
Do you use pavers or natural stone?
Both. Pavers give a clean, even surface and are easy to repair. Natural stone fits older Portland and Cape Elizabeth homes. We walk the tradeoffs on site.
How long does a patio project take?
Most residential patios and walkways finish in a scheduled week once materials are on site. Walls and large terraces take longer. We give the window with the estimate.
Do you handle drainage and grading with the hardscape?
Yes. A patio that ponds water fails early. We grade to the yard and add drains where the lot needs them, then install the surface.
